A contemporary university teacher through the eyes of students

Today the requirements for modern university teachers who constantly have to master new competencies, teaching methods and forms of interaction in order to meet modern requirements and challenges have increased. Consequently, it is important not only to build the trajectory of their own evolution, but also to know the students' opinion about teachers' personal and professional competencies, their expectations and hopes. The goal of this article is to analyze and to compare the opinions of students on the personal and professional competencies of a university teacher in recent years. In order to solve this goal, the following tasks were set: to carry out theoretical analysis on the problem; to compare and summarize the opinions of students on the problem over the past 15 years, and to draw conclusions. The article presents the practical study outcomes conducted on the basis of the students of Siberian Institute of Management — a branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (SIM RANEPA), and Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management (NSUEM) polls. The outcome contains the main qualities of a modern teacher.
