The issues of training bright, original, creative teachers for secondary and higher schools are still relevant. Teachers, methodologists, and teachers develop and successfully introduce various approaches, technologies, methods and techniques into the educational process aimed at improving the quality of training of graduates of pedagogical universities, and meeting their professional and personal qualities with the rapidly changing requirements of the time. These actions are bearing fruit.
However, let’s try to trace the process of Teacher’s formation on the other hand, from the result, by the example of life and professional activity of one of the brightest teachers of the Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University. Using this approach provides an opportunity to highlight and trace the formation of the basic professional and personal qualities of worthy teachers, which are so rich in the domestic school. The purpose of the work is to highlight the main professional and personal qualities of the Teacher and to trace their formation using the example of the life and teaching activities of Vasily Mikhailovich Kravtsov.
The source material was a list of professional and personal qualities of a teacher, identified on the basis of a generalization of long-term observations of the activities of teachers of secondary and higher schools.
The main results were obtained by the method of retrospective analysis, through which the formation of the personal and professional qualities of one of the worthy teachers of higher education, included in the generalized model of the Teacher, was traced. In the image of an ideal Teacher, it is possible to single out several equally important personal and professional qualities that are in demand at all times.
One of the first places in this characteristic can be put deep proficiency in the taught subject, discipline. On the example of the life and work of Vasily Mikhailovich, it is traced that mastery of the subject by a large teacher begins in childhood and continues throughout life. At the same time, both practical mastery is carried out - at the level of sensations, impressions, emotions, and even creative actions, and comprehension of the theory of the subject through a generalization of personal experience and the experience of other researchers.
