The relevance of the article is due to the need to draw the attention o f the scientific pedagogical community and the >5 practical community of teachers, teachers, psychologists and other specialists to the study o f increasing social activity ^ factors o f young people living in small monocities in Western Siberia. ^ The main purpose of the article is the theoretical justification and description of the organization and results o f the rap- 5 id survey aimed at identifying, systematizing and analyzing the problems o f modern student youth o f a small single-industry town whose economy determines the specifics o f educational institutions w ith the main spectrum o f specialties О in oil and gas production. Problems under consideration: distortions in the process o f socialization o f young people, psychological barriers in the formation o f an active life position of students in a northern monocity, social subjectivity development o f young men and girls, the reflective attitude o f young people to their own status.
