The article discusses the results of the section "Informatics" at the city conference "My first discovery" in the Palace of creativity of children and studying youth "the Junior" in the city of Novosibirsk at an angle tackling the task of identifying the special talents of students. The results of the survey of conference participants are presented. The questionnaire consist of questions regarding training, motivation, conduct of this event. It turned out that most students in the project were helped by teachers, parents. And it is normal for elementary school students. But the idea of the project, most was made up by the students.
