Mentoring as the Form of Psychology-Pedagogical Support of Adolescents Who are Growing in Adopted Families

The article deals with the problem of psychological and pedagogical support of adolescents who are brought up in substitute families. The specificity of the adolescent period and the conditions of deprivation create special difficulties in adapting these children to a substitute family. The results of the pilot study in the "Foster parent school" show a number of destructive moments of motivational characteristics of young candidates for substitute parents, which proves the need for comprehensive work both with candidates to substitute families, the adolescents themselves, and at the level of social education in general. The complex solution of problems of support in the form of mentoring is offered. The program of mentoring and the features of its implementation are presented: preparation of volunteers for accompaniment, the process of psychological and pedagogical support of adolescents for the purpose of their socialization and social adaptation in modern society, work with substitute families (on the basis of "Center for Education and Comprehensive Support of Children" of the Ministry of Education of Chuvash Republic, Kanash, Russia). The results of the program show a decrease in the percentage of families on crisis support.
