Formation of resilience of adolescents as a pedagogical condition for overcoming the consequences of returning from a foster familySolving the problem of pedagogical assistance to adolescents in overcoming the consequences of returning from substitute families, the authors of the article turn to such a condition as the formation of resilience. Viability is the adolescent's willingness and ability to comprehend his feelings and experiences related to the cessation of his life activity within the family system, based on the values of vitality and understanding of his own internal resources, to determine ways out of a difficult life situation and build an optimistic way of interacting with the outside world. The article substantiates the theoretical background of the formation of resilience in adolescence, presents the features of the formation of resilience in orphans and children left without parental care. Based on the analysis of the results of experimental work, it was been proved that the Book of Life is an effective pedagogical tool for overcoming the consequences of returning from a replacement family in the process of building resilience. The technology of formation of viability during the work of a teenager with the "Book of Life" was revealing. It was established that the greatest progress in the development of resilience was shown by adolescents who have a long experience of living in the family, and adolescents from substitute families. Adolescents returned from adoptive families and adolescents who had experience living in two or more substitute families faced great difficulties in restoring and strengthening their resilience. Overall, an increase in resilience was recording in all adolescents.
