Problems of Readiness of Graduates of General Educational Schools for Training in Higher Education Organizations

The article discusses the problem of the readiness of secondary school graduates in our country to continue their studies at a university. The comparison of the existing federal state educational standards of general education and the documents regulating the final state certification of graduates with federal state standards of higher education of the third generation is given. The lack of continuity of requirements for graduates of secondary schools and the necessary competencies in terms of the implementation of independent cognitive activity of a university student has been revealed.

Foreign Communication Teaching Based on Native Language

Learning a foreign language takes place out of touch with the natural communication environment and students perceive a foreign culture through their mother tongue. Trying to speak a foreign language students of non-linguistic faculties make a lot of mistakes in the grammatical structure of sentences that lead to misunderstanding. The article deals with the issue of students’ disability to express their ideas in a foreign language. The main problem of mastering a foreign language lies in the difficulty students meet when learning English grammar.

The article is devoted to the relevance and content of functional literacy in education and to one of the areas of functional literacy — mathematical functional literacy. The features of functional literacy components are substantiated. First of all, a person’s ability to adapt to the environment. Methodological innovations for the formation of mathematical functional literacy in the current conditions of the development of national education, taking into account international studies, are presented.
