FEATURES OF THE ESP COURSE DEVELOPMENT APPROACH

The article deals with the problem of developing an ESP course for university students in the context of a student-centered approach. The main attention in the article is drawn to the fact that in the process of study-ing and teaching English for special purposes, the needs of the student, the analysis of typical professional communicative situations, the rules of successful communication come to the fore. A unique feature of ESP courses is their dual nature – they combine language teaching with content teaching. This means that such a course is different from the general English course and must meet certain criteria in terms of teaching mate-rials and seminars.
