Platform Skyeng for University: Challenges and Opportunities

Integration processes, socio-economic changes and the unstable epidemiological situation have accelerated the process of digitalization in modern universities. It is one of the key factors that affect learning and teaching processes at the university level in these times. A new trend in higher education is the use of online educational platforms in foreign languages teaching. The goal of this article is to analyze the effectiveness of using the Skyeng digital educational platform in the process of blended English language teaching for the students of International Relations program at Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management (NSUEM). In order to solve this goal, the following tasks were set: to carry out theoretical analysis on the problem, summarize the results of the experiment and draw conclusions. The article discusses the practical study outcomes conducted on the online platform Skyeng. A qualitative and quantitative analysis of the effectiveness of using this platform when teaching English showed positive learning outcomes as well as the students’ satisfaction in this technology. The authors conclude that using an educational platform Skyeng is as an excellent method of reaching academic goals with blended learning to create a comfortable learning environment, increase the efficiency of the educational process and motivate students to study English.
