Content and Organization of the Municipal Professional Skills Competition «Best Teacher of the Year»: an Expert ViewThe professional skills competition «Teacher of the Year» is held annually at three levels: municipal, regional and federal. The problem is the lack of a unified approach to the content, organization and evaluation criteria of tests. To solve the problem, the goal was set — to conduct an expert assessment of competitive materials that determine the procedure, conditions of organization and criteria apparatus, using the example of the municipal professional skills competition «The best Teacher of the Year». This article presents an analysis of the content, organization and evaluation criteria of the municipal professional competition «Best Teacher of the Year» 2022–2023, which was held in Irkutsk. All competitive tests were analyzed from the perspective of compliance with goal setting, format and evaluation criteria. A comparative analysis of three levels of the «Teacher of the Year» competition was carried out: municipal, regional and federal in terms of the number of tests, their names and evaluation criteria. The result of the research is the conclusion that the number of competitive tests at the municipal level is unjustifiably inflated, and the incorrect formulation of the criteria makes it difficult to evaluate the competitors objectively. Critical comments on the competitive tests and criteria presented in the article will improve the organizational and methodological support of the competition at the municipal level and optimize the work of experts for a more objective assessment.
