The specifics of vocational guidance work in a correspondence university on the example of the Russian Open Academy of Transport

An analysis of the activities of the admission campaign of higher educational institutions of the city of Moscow, as well as a sociological survey, revealed the need for adopting a strategy for attracting a contingent to the ROAT walls and creating a career guidance council of the academy. Targets and goals. The main goal of the article is to familiarize readers with the specifics of organizing distance learning and the specifics of vocational guidance work by employees of a correspondence university using the example of the Russian Open Academy of Transport RUT. Methods. We used a sample sociological survey, collection and study of statistical data. Results. Currently, many higher educational institutions are experiencing the problem of recruiting students. Without effective vocational guidance, a modern university is not competitive, since it is students who are the main competitive advantage. Therefore, if a university plans to function and develop in a competitive environment, it needs to be creative and systematic not only to the choice of career guidance methods, but to the organization of the educational process.
