The aim of this research is to study the readiness of foreign language teachers to use Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in the educational process of higher education institutions. To achieve this goal, a multi-level approach was used, including questionnaire analysis, conducting interviews with teachers, and critical analysis of educational documents. It was found that despite theteachers’ positive attitude and recognition of MOOCs`potential they face a number of difficulties that hinder the use of MOOCs in full, i.e.

The article analyzes the features of the philosophy of education of the outstanding representative of medieval scholasticism, philosopher and teacher, Thomas Aquinas, the knowledge of which is necessary, firstly, to understand how the formation of the philosophical and pedagogical thought of Thomas Aquinas took place; secondly, to find out which educational concepts he borrowed from his predecessors, and which he introduced into pedagogical practice himself.

The article highlights important transformations in the system of primary professional education of the Orenburg region in the 20s and 30s of the XX century. On the basis of archival materials and periodicals, the author reveals all the difficulties faced by the primary professional education of the Orenburg region during the specified period and ways to overcome them. The author also considers the main ways of training workers in industry and agriculture in the Orenburg region.

The article focuses on studying the image of a current foreign language teacher in socialnetworks as well as defining the attitude of students to the teacher and teaching blogs in the social networks through the audience’s feedback. It also deals with studying the methodological approaches of blogs and content presentation features, alongwith identifying the educational blog specifics of a today’s so called digital educator which affects the audience’s perception of his/ her image.
