In the article we present the results of the activities of the two structural units of the Novosibirsk Teachers’ Upgrading and Retraining Institute at scientific and methodological, educational and methodological supervision of students with disabilities in the Novosibirsk region. We determine the existing problems of this process, and propose to solve them by means of special professional development of teachers.

We describe the problem of professional readiness of teachers to implement the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard and to educate children with limited health abilities. Teacher’s professional discourse is presented as a verbal objectification of readiness. In addition, we give research studies of teaching environment helping to change professional discourse of a speech therapist in the process of retraining.
